It still surprises me how much this isssue comes up. Just today I have spoken with 2 CEOs who had not the 1st clue about how to link strategy with activity. These were both were respected individuals with long positive careers. I wonder if "good luck" is part of the answer?
You could be right. Sometimes the conditions are so good that you could do anything and still succeed. Mind you I mainly see companies who have murky strategies to have equally murky results.
