Some books you might find useful

By Shawn. Filed in Books.

As you can probably guess I like to read and manage to get through quite a few books in the year. I noticed Amazon allows you to list books in a set of categories, so I've put together a preliminary list of books I recommend on the following topics:

  • change
  • collaboration
  • communities of practice
  • complexity
  • storytelling

Are there obvious ones I've missed?

For organizational change I think Argyris and his work on defensive mechanisms within organizations is still a must.

Argyris, C. (1990). Overcoming organizational defenses. Facilitating organizational learning. Boston: Allyn and Bacon.

Otherwise I also enjoyed Group Genius and appreciated a few new titles on complexity.
