Advanced dotmocracy

By Shawn Callahan. Follow me on Twitter. Filed in .

Jason Diceman just made a comment on the dotmocracy post pointing us to the Advanced Dotmocracy approach. There is even a comparison of both techniques on his website. Looks very well described and supported with handouts. I’ll have to give it a go to see how it works.

So did you ever try it? Is so, how did it work out?

Yes, we use the approach, with variations, quite often. One variation involves using three sizes of post-it note and asking the voters to write the number of the issue on the post-it with priority ones on the largest etc. Then everyone puts their post-its on the wall and you get an instant picture of everyone's preferences without influencing each other decision.
